What are some benefits of the Lord? Forgiveness, God's saving and healing power, redemption, His mercy endures forever, His love, and protection, just to name a few.
Psalm 103:14, For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
He made us the way we are, so in all our failures, we would need a Savior and God would get all the glory.
I relate these scriptures in a great way to raising our children, homeschooling, and preparing them to become Christ-like young adults. We simply do not have all the answers, but as Christian Mothers we have direct access to the One with all the answers. Have a question? Jesus is the answer.
Psalm 103:19, The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.
He is the Great Ruler, the Leader, He is the one in charge of the situation...He is the One Who will lead you all the way in your homeschooling, child raising adventure! Your job? To follow His leading.
Many of you know, we have taken up walking as a family. We walk for exercise (of course!), we walk for fun, we walk to talk about whatever, and we walk to breathe in all the fresh air. When I first started walking, I told the kids, "Whoever wants to walk with me can, but you really don't have to, and remember you can stop any time, like if you get too tired or hot." I have always had at least three children finish with me every time and we are walking an hour now! Israel (10), Alesha (9), and Christina (6) cannot wait for me to get outside and begin walking. "Moma, wake me up to go walking!" Israel says. "Even if I don't walk everytime with you Moma, I just like the feeling when you are outside with us," 13 year old Jessica said. We talk about God alot, talk about things we have done before and want to do next, and really just have a good visit. Before we know it, the hour has gone by! Would the children walk without me? Probably not. Children, mine being no exception, desire time with their parents, they feel secure when parents are involved in their inside and outside play. This is great learning time too. The Cubs love to ask questions while we're walking. Walking with your children is a great health benefit for all involved.
Lyon Cub Warm Fuzzie of the Week: Our 4 year old Torah doesn't like spiders, wasps, bees, and snakes. (so much like her Mother) She told me, "Moma, I would like Granddaddy longlegs because they are kind of cute, but they look too much like a spider!"
TM Safety Tip: Please remember to keep your children safe this summer. There are registered sex offenders and there are sex offenders who have never been caught. They go where children are such as the local pool, malls, Wal-mart, McDonalds, toy stores, video arcades, libraries (for summer reading time), parks that have playground equipment and picnic tables, etc. Don't let your children go to the restroom alone.
